The Gauteng Sports Council (GSC) the national multi-coded sporting body in Gauteng responsible for the:
- Structuring of sport in the province
- provide membership to provincial sport structures
- ensure that systems are in place for the formations of coaches, technical officiating sport management and sport science structures in the province
- represent the province at SASCOC
- ensure educational and training programmes for coaches, technical officiating and sport administration and management
- We also look after all our various National Federations who are affiliated to us, together with the various provincial sports councils.
- We are responsible for the awarding for Provincial Colours to athletes/officials who have met the criteria to represent the Province in different sporting codes and arenas. We also endorse the applications for Bidding and Hosting of events providing these criteria are all met.
- We assist in the preparation, presentation and performance of teams to all multi-coded events such as the SA Games
